It’s a quiet, foggy morning here. From my front windows I have a view of the entire San Francisco Bay Area, but this morning it has all disappeared in the fog, and it feels like I am in a ship in the middle of the ocean. Well, except for that tree across the street. It’s my first morning with no work, no obligations or places to go, since the latest news first broke. I have spent it going through all the comments people have left here the last few days. I’d read them, but I wanted to take the time to respond to them. I tried to answer questions people had asked, but if all I said was “thank you,” those are not empty words I assure you.
Later I think I am going to go to the book store and look for a book of poetry by Rainer Maria Rilke. Then I’m going to go to Whole Foods in search of their Curried Vegan Chicken Salad. This is my comfort food.
Thank you again, everybody.
And Michaela, I love you.
