Writing my release

2 AM and I’m still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, it’s no longer inside of me,
Threatening the life it belongs to
And I feel like I’m naked in front of the crowd
Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud
And I know that you’ll use them, however you want to

Lyrics from “Just Breathe” by Anna Nalick.  Although I don’t write songs, I do write, and this just describes perfectly WHY I write … just to get everything that inside of me to the outside of me, to relieve the pressure.

  1. Isn't it amazing, Sharon, how writing things down can be such a release? I was having a very, very hard time dealing with the loss of my mom's best friend. Then I wrote about her on my blog and it just made me feel so much better.
