Autumn winds

The weather has turned here, suddenly moving from summer to an autumn chill. I have always loved the changing seasons — spring and fall. The times of change always seem to bring a sense of deja vu, as they take me back to other seasons of my life. The sudden chill makes me remember other places, other times, all the seasons of my life kind of falling together on top of each other.

It is very windy and blustery as well. The house is silent, and I’m sitting here alone, listening to the howling of the wind outside. It doesn’t scare me, and yet I feel a little frightened, a little anxious, just a little like crying.

I think I need to get off the internet and go read a good book.

  1. The weather has changed here, too. I love autumn, but I'm not a fan of winter, so spring can't come soon enough for me! I know how dreary days can make you feel down a bit, so I hope your area has sunny days this week to help lift your spirits! Praying for you and Michaela daily,Michele

  2. Thanks Michele. I actually love dreary weather, even rain as long as I don't have to go out in it! I'm a homebody at heart and dreary days make home seem cozier. Just today been feeling kind of off.

  3. Its me again Sharon… 🙂 I smile reading your post about the weather, and the time of changing seasons… Ive always enjoyed that and the fact is I love when in rains (not everyday in your holiday of course) but just an ordinary day, its calming och its cosy… I've never found the words to describe the feel i get when the seasons changes until today,…. that is exactly it. It takes you back! Memorys become so vividly. Its like when you sence a fragrance or hear a melody…

  4. It is starting to feel like autumn in the Northeast, too. This is one of my favorite times of the year, but the longer nights affect me, and I often feel a twinge of sadness – a seasonal S.A.D., I think.I have a bit of bronchitis this week, so I slept all weekend, but you were one of the first people I thought about when I woke up.Oh, I have such a longing for the Lord to move on your behalf. Catching up on your blog, I am glad that He is still encouraging you, but I long for some clearer direction from Him. In my church, my Pastor often talks about listening for the Lord's voice and obeying whatever He tells us to do, even if it is something that seems ridiculous or silly. I keep praying, “Lord, thank You for continuing to encourage Sharon, but, please have mercy and show her and Your children what to do to bring Michaela home.” I remember the story of one woman whose son was kidnapped who felt led to go to a particular parking lot every night to pray. It turned out to be the parking lot outside of the building where her son was being held. << Deborah

  5. Sharon,May the love and mercy of Jesus Christ lead you and bring closure to your sorrow..In Jesus Name..Praying for you —James

  6. Sharon, I can imagine how much harder it is for you as another anniversary of Michaela's abduction draws nearer. I hope and pray that God will lead His angels to where Michaela is now, so that she can be reunited with you. I truly believe that good always triumps over evil. What the abductor did was nothing short of complete evil, and he cannot matter where he is. I am continuing to pray for Michaela's safe return.
